Research Interests
Diego was a visiting scholar from October 2019 until May 2021. He came as
a Feodor Lynen Research Fellow funded by Alexander von Humboldt
Foundation. During his stay he analyzed relations between employment
trends and land use changes in the USA. Stimulated by ongoing and
increasing fire activity in California, Diego did a reinspection of the
Forest Fire Model (10.1103/PhysRevE.104.L012201) and an analysis of fire
connectivity in terms of predictive percolation (forthcoming). Back in
Germany he dedicates his research interests to urban complexity as well as
cities in the climate change complex.
